Welcome to Polystacks. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Polystacks website, APIs, RSS feeds, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using Polystacks, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Use of the Service and Accounts

Polystacks is an open discovery catalog and index for quantum and heterogeneous computing open source software, libraries, algorithm implementations, and research papers.

You may browse, search, and access public project listings, RSS feeds, and public REST APIs freely. To bookmark projects or manage your profile, you may register an account. You agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account.

2. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You must not:

  • Submit spam, fraudulent repositories, non-open-source software, or malicious code.
  • Impersonate any person, open source maintainer, researcher, organization, or platform administrator.
  • Engage in abusive automated querying or scraping that degrades platform availability or bypasses API rate limits.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any accounts, computer systems, or private databases connected to the Service.
  • Post derogatory, harassing, defamatory, or unlawful content in user profile fields or project notes.

3. Intellectual Property and Open Source Code

A. Upstream Project Code and Licenses

Polystacks does not claim ownership of any open source project, code repository, algorithm, or paper indexed on the platform. All listed software packages are governed strictly by their respective upstream open source licenses (such as MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD, or GPL). Users are solely responsible for reviewing and adhering to the upstream license terms of any project they use.

B. Project Submissions and Metadata

When you submit project metadata (repository links, category classifications, tags, documentation summaries) to Polystacks, you grant Polystacks a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to index, display, format, distribute, and syndicate that metadata through our user interface, RSS feeds, and public REST APIs for the benefit of the community. You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit this information.

C. Platform Content and Branding

The Polystacks name, brand assets, website design, curation structures, and original editorial showcase articles are the intellectual property of Polystacks and its creators. Third-party project names, trademarks, and logos belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and reference purposes only.

4. Account Termination and Content Removal

We reserve the right to suspend, disable, or terminate any user account or remove any project listing at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we believe the account or submission violates these Terms, infringes upon intellectual property rights, or harms the integrity of the platform.

You may terminate your account at any time through your profile settings or by reaching out to us via our contact page.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

POLYSTACKS IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of third-party project metadata, quantum hardware availability, quantum hardware specifications, benchmark results, or code safety. Any reliance on listed projects is at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL POLYSTACKS, ITS MAINTAINERS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

7. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the parties agree to first attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally by contacting each other directly before initiating formal legal proceedings.
